A female , anonymous writes:

My 2 best friends in the whole world happened to get together about 4 months ago and recently split. And my boy best friend told people he has confusing feelings about me, stuff that makes his stomach jump - now I don't know what to do cause I care about him sooo much and I'm confused too. But I could never get with him because that would be betraying by girl best mate.

Should I stop talking to him? This is killing me.

A male reader, Dazzerg United Kingdom +, writes (6 February 2006):

Dazzerg agony auntYou say here that they split recently. The first thing I would do is allow this situation some time to settle down. I think that you possibly have alot of confused feelings between the three of you and you all need some time to work them out.

However, given time it is possible that something could happen between you and your boy mate without ur best girl friend feeling betrayed. If you got with him but spoke to your friend about it beforehand then there would be no betrayal, for example.

If you stop talking to him then I would say it will be obvious to your girl mate that something is wrong and naturally she will start asking questions. Let it be known through the same people that you think things need time to settle down and try and maintain a normal friendship as much as possible, hard as this might be. Hope that helps.
