My middle son wouldnt eat lumpy food for ages and at 14 STILL wont eat lumpy yoghurts or mince beef!
Rarely children have a problem but mostly a lot of kids go through this and they all eat lumps at different times.
First of all stop worrying about it.
Introduce finger foods one at a time to see if you can find anything he really really likes. Try giving him some lumpy with some smooth at the same meal. Or instead of trying him straight from smooth to lumpy gradually decrease the amount you actually puree it so it gradually has more texture.
He will eventually start to eat more lumps but it is sometimes a slow process I think even more so now that your not supposed to introduce solids until 6 months not 12 weeks as it was with my first two.
