writes: I've tried to have sex with my boyfriend for the first time but his penis just won't go in! Is there something wrong with me or can this happen to anyone? I was really in the mood and i don't know what's going wrong, is it just that i'm nervous and it resists it or something, what can i do? Please help it's really embarrasing!

reader, anonymous, writes (27 December 2006): i have this problem too! i can insert tampons and fingers but not a penis. i tried a vibrator to see if it would help put that just hurt and wouldn't go in. me and my bf are going to try again another time fingers crossed it will work.

I had that problem my first time and even with the second guy i slept with for the first time because i was so nervous. I realised if u relax its so much easier and just keep trying as well. The most important thing is dont start panicking or getting embarrassed cos then u'll be tense n it definatly wont work. Just relax n dont think bout wats happening for a second. I was so scared it would hurt (so if ur worried n thats why), it hardly hurts at all.

reader, anonymous, writes (23 February 2006): Don't worry me and my boyfriend were having the same problem (sorta). He told me it was because I was "tight".He just kept pushing. But it also helps if your "wet". After that going in will hurt for about 3 or 4 times maybe.hope I was of some help!

reader, anonymous, writes (23 February 2006): It sounds like you have what many ppl have- Vaginismus. The muscles around your vagina will not allow penetration. You should look this up online and read about it. Your boyfriend must be patient with you and you must try and stay relaxed. This is a psychological thing, not physical. The best person to talk to is your doctor. You'll be able to have sex, but it may take a little while. Vaginismus is cured through counselling. Don't worry, there are plenty of women who have experienced this. Good luck!
