Made out with an underaged girl (15)... Could I get into trouble?

A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi.

I went out last night with a few friends. During the course of the evening, I ran into a girl from Germany. She hung around with us for a while, came to a club with us ect, I bought her a drink and we sat together and had a conversation. My friends left us alone a short time later, and we ended up making out. During our little kissing session, I may have marked her neck.

So, sounds like a good night I think you'll agree. But it wasn't until the next morning, my friend told me how old she was. She was only 15! I'm 19, and I'm a little worried that my actions could (and I guess it's doubtful) get me in some sort of trouble. Worse yet, while walking around together, some of her friends took a picture of us as we passed by... And I guess I'm just a little worried that all this could come back to haunt me.

What do you think? Am I worrying too much? For what it's worth, the whole night I was pleasant to her, and reassured her that I'd make sure she met back up with her friends before they left for wherever it was they were staying.

Thanks

Well, depends. I know you say you only kissed but what if, for some reason, she says you did more. Depending on where you live, you could go to jail. I matters not, in most states, if she consented. I KNOW several young men who have either gone to prison or are headed to court for a lie an underage girl told. Even if parents or the girl drop charges, the state does not have to drop charges and probably won't. Make sure you KNOW a girls age to protect yourself.

Oh love don't worry about it, this isn't your fault, and besides kissing certainly isn't illegal. It's an easy mistake to make and I know what it's like to be so surprised and disappointed in yourself. I normally go for older women, but a lass I thought was my age called around my house once, who I thought was attractive. It turned out it was my sister's 15 year old friend. Knocked me back I can tell you. There's only going to be a problem if you repeat what happened now you know her age. Give yourself a break, and put it behind you :)

It really is getting harder to tell a girls age. I mean its still considered bad manners to ask a woman her age, but that pretty much what a guy has to do these days.

And girls can lie as easily as men. The problem is, its the guy that gets done for statuatory rape if a girl lies to him about her age and he honestly can't tell.

It takes two to tango and if the girl lies to bone a guy, then she is just as much to blame.

As all you did was make out, then you should be fine. I mean if the bouncer to a club didn't even bother to I.D. her, then she must have looked at least 18.

Just be more careful next time, man. And ditch the friends. I mean what kind of friends allow this to happen?

NAW! I wouldn't worry too much. The most that could happen is that you caould be charged with "contributing to the delinquincy of a minor"(buying her a drink). Kissing is inappropriate, but you were in a club, so it couldn't have been too much. Next time, stay away from young girls and as for your friends...they should have told you from the get go , how old she was.

Jamer70 agony auntunless making out is a new slang word for sex, you are fine.

Kissing underage girls isnt illegal or alot of parents would be in jail

Though morally it may not be right, you are in no legal trouble.

Your conscience will punish you enough

and next time be a little more careful

I would'nt worry about it.

It sounds like 2 ships passing in the night.

What are the chances of you seeing her again?

As long as you did'nt have sex with her, you'll be OK.

I pickup underaged girls all the time. You would be surprised at how easy they are.

So if she was willing then what's the harm?
