Hey... I have a boyfriend... and I luv him loads and loads. I know this sounds real harsh but his fashion sense is a bit bad.

His clothes are kind of OK but his trousers are too short and he wears this manky jacket. It's a bit embarrassing and a stupid thing to say coz looks don't matter, but what can I do maybe to hint? ..x..Lauren..x..

A female reader, anonymous, writes (3 July 2006):

I had the same problem with my boyfriend, he dressed like a scally, but I could see the potential. I just said to him "you would look as good as you could possibly look if you wore better clothes" and he wasnt bothered about what he wore so he didnt care. We went shopping one day and I just said "do you want to look for some stuff for you?" so we did and he dresses better now ^.^

Just put it nicely.

willywombat agony auntYou can mention it to him, but be prepared to accept it if he ahs a go at you back or gets in a strop. Imagine he did the same to you.

How about going shopping with him and picking out some stuff you like and saying *I would love to see you in this* type of thing? That way you acn show him what you like without being rude or sounding like you are criticising him

Good luck

xx

xxxsoulsistaxxx agony auntI can see why this would bother you, but don't feel bad, most guys need a bit of help from time to time when it comes to looking good. I think you need to go shopping together and just pick things up that are fashionable and that will suit him. That way, it's very subtle and you won't upset him.

If he doesn't go for this and refuses everything you choose, you'll just have to accept it. I usually say 'talk to him' but I think in this case, you'll just upset him if you do that. If he's happy with the way he looks and doesn't want to change, who are you to say he should? If you're too embaressed, you'll just have to finish him.

Hope the shopping trip goes well!!
