Lost the confidence to smile because of a skin problem!

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey :)

I woke up this morning with a horrible kind of spot at the outer corner of my mouth. I thought it was an acne spot to begin with so I tried picking at it, but that's not what it is. It seems like more of a boil. Sounds disgusting, I know. It's white/yellow and a bit sore. It's just annoying me more than anything because I can feel it at the side of my mouth. You can see it when I smile mostly so I'm avoiding smiling now! It's probably less obvious than I think but it feels obvious. It's so annoying!

So does anyone have any idea what it could be? Where it came from? And how could I get rid of it or at least reduce it? I will go to the doctor's if it persists because I don't think I'd be able to stick having it for a while!

Thank you.

If it was me, i'd stick a sterile pin in it and get the puss out, then use savlon or tcp to make sure it's thoroughly clean.. But that's just me lol ice can reduce the swelling of it, but if you think it is a boil then see your doctor!
