you can leave home legally at 16,law changed 1975,but you need your parents permission to marry under 18,what you could do is invite your to meet you bf and talk,it is best to try and keep your parents happy, remember they brought you in to their lives and love you deeply and would not what anything to hurt you,try putting yourself in their shoes,so how you feel then, would you like it to happen to you when you get older?

If your parents strongly objected then they could still go to the police and social services about this. As you will know the age of consent for sexual relationships is 16 here in the UK and therefore the police would not act on that basis. Your parents could seek court action using a family solicitor to insist you lived at home until 18. However, this would be expensive and time-consuming - you maybe nearing 18 before it took effect. At 18 you can do what you like. I would say that unless parent relations are dire then you shouldn't cut ties with them because you never know when you may need them in the future. If you feel mature enough to live with your BF then you should sit them down and explain the reasons to them rather than running off without their knowledge (and ideally blessing).

nix-baby is wrong. Your still under 18 so you need parental permission still. Anyway your better of talking to your family about this rather than ditching them and possibly ruining our relationship with them.

Hi,
Yes it is legal as you are over 16.

So, I would say that if your parents have said 'no' it could be illegal, but I'm no lawyer, and I've no idea what the consequences might be if you went against their wishes. They remain responsible for your wellbeing until you're 18.
When you're 18 you can do as you please, and it will be you who have to face up to the consequences - good and bad - of any actions you might take, because in law you'll be considered an adult.
