writes: To any ladies who may be able to help, or men!?? : I recently went on the contraceptive injection (middle of April) and i was told that most of the time, your periods will stop whilst on this or become very irregular like one in every few months or something. . . i know this. i am used 2 having quite heavy periods and bad period pain so i always know when i'm coming on, at least a day before. but, since yesterday, im sort of like bleeding a little but its not a period if you understand what i mean. it's not heavy enough to require a tampon or pad, its just like (here comes the disgustin details!) a brownish sort of colour like what you usually get towards the end of your period. i've got no period pain so i know it isnt a period, but it's slightly worrying me now that it's happened again this afternoon. i go to the loo and this happens. any answers to whats happpening or anything? thankss, and apologies for the details! I agree, see your GP if you're that worried.
Personally though I also was on contraceptive injection for four years and had virtually no periods at all after the first 2 or 3 months. After coming off the injections it took nearly a year for my periods to return. I found it a very convenient method although my weight did increase over time which is also a common side effect.

If you're worried then go to the doctors they will be able to tell you for definite. The only explanation I can think of is that because your peroids were heavy the jab has just reduced the flow to what you have now.I used to have very painful periods and went on the jab in October 2007 for that reason, the first month or so I had a little spotting but haven't had a period since November 2007.As I said I can't say it's 100% the same for you so if you are worried just go and see your nurse and she should b able to help you.
