Jealousy is eating me up

Question - (3 January 2016) 1 Answers - (Newest, 4 January 2016)
A female United Kingdom age 22-25, anonymous writes:

I have this girl, we've been close for nearly a year, very close for a few months and together for around 3 weeks now. It's all happened so fast but she has this other friend whose known her ages (I'm female by the way and bisexual, however I don't see myself with any other girl but her). Nobody knows we're dating, they think we're just friends and we see each other all the time except school. Her other friend gets annoyed which is understandable and although my girlfriend says she prefers me over her other friend I still get extremely jealous all the time of them. It's stupid but I want her to myself and I know that sounds so greedy but I can't help it.

The other girl, we'll she hates me. She calls me "it" behind my back and even gets her mum involved in arguments, her family hate me and they haven't even met me! I just want to stop this jealous feeling and make my girlfriend see how much I'm hurting. It makes me feel so bad and I just break down sometimes as I can't take it. I'm stuck and confused and so lost. I don't know what to do but I can't loose her. Not now. Please help me!

A female reader, aunt honesty Ireland +, writes (4 January 2016):

aunt honesty agony auntI know it can be hard in a new relationship to accept that the other person has other friends, and you are so young so you are struggling with your feelings. However if you keep getting jealous you will lose your girlfriend as this sort of clingy behavior is hard for someone to tolerate. Is there a group at school or a youth group you could go to speak to an adult who can give you some guidance on how to handle your feelings.
