writes:Maybe it's just me, but I've been here in Japan for almost half a year and I'm noticing that I'm becoming increasingly more and more annoyed with Japanese women. Now, I'm not racist, but a lot of Japanese women absolutely irk me. I think the thing that annoys me the most is how fake and superficial some of them are. I can't stand the whole super-submissive/super-innocent/naive act that a lot of them put on (especially for foreign men). It's really something that I shouldn't pay attention to, but it gets the best of me every time! (I personally think it may be jealousy of the fact that foreign women have absolutely no luck with relationships here...) All I want to know is if anyone else has this kind of sentiment? (Or) Does anyone know how can completely get over this? Thank you.

reader, anonymous, writes (13 December 2009): Try to have some compassion for them...they are not doing it to piss you off, it is what they have learned and need to do to survive. How would you like it if all of a sudden you were stuck in that kind of life? It would really suck! I feel sorry for them.

reader, anonymous, writes (13 December 2009): While I was living in Russia I had the same poor luck in the love section (apart from getting hit on by men more than twice my age). Its culture. I didn't fit in. Russian women wear high heels and are all lady like, and although I am more lady like than other girls in my native country, I still wasn't "woman" enough. So try not to let that bother you. It's a culture thing. Or find a niche where the people are more like you and wherever it is you come from. I for example found a university full of international students where I fit in a lot better.
As for their act, just let it be. What works for them works for them, you don't wanna do that, you don't wanna be submissive, but if they like it then why not. Just ignore it.

You have to be your authentic self to attract the right man for you. Why would you want to be with a guy who wants sumbissive subservient women and not someone who is his equal? I sure wouldn't
