A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

hi, i had sex yesterday with this boy ive been talking to for a bit now. hes 19 and im 16 in 3 weeks. i havent had sex for about a month and a half, since me and my ex broke up. but yesterday, he went semi-slow at first, but when he was about half way inside of me, it hurt SO BAD! i was about to cry. he immediately stopped and said he was so so so sorry and he was really freaked out. i said it was ok and didnt know why it hurt so bad bc it wasnt my first time. so we tried again and the same thing happened but we continued and i told him to go very very slow. so he did. it stopped hurting a lot after a while but it was still uncomfortable and mildly painful. Ive had sex many times before this... with 2 other guys, but neither of them were as... um... long as he was... (excuse my language). It felt like he was hitting something inside me and tearing me apart, even when he went slowly. why was this???

A female reader, anonymous, writes (6 March 2010):

Obviously, he was just a bit bigger than you're used to. If you want to have sex with him again, make sure he takes it very slowly, use lubricant, and if you are on top then you can control what happens and position yourself so it doesn't help. All the best

A female reader, anonymous, writes (6 March 2010):

All I know is that at 16 your body is not ready for penetrative sex, let alone with multiple partners. In many countries there are government programmes to stop parents from getting their daughters married at 16 because sexual maturity sets in only at 18-19.

At 15 you seem to know more about it than many of us. I'm sure you will figure it out. In any case, it's not like its stopping you or anything.
