It was from sex to cuddling, is this progress?

Ive been having sex with this guy a few times and he is a really good friend... its kind of a big deal that we have crossed that line... The first couple of times it was just about the sex...but last weekend when we had sex, it was slow, sweet and we kissed thru most of it.. then we talked until the sun come up. He told me about things he worries about and we had laughs. He kissed and cuddled me for hours... Is this progress? I really dig him :)
