writes:Is it normal (from a psychological point of view), that I am attracted to older men in their 40' s . Not all of them , it all the depends on their level of maturity. The way they talk about life , their experience ..It moves me in a way that no other men my age could. And even if the man is married of has kids . I have no intention to have a relationship with them. I know how to control myself. But I admire them.Is it normal?

We're all human here and it's natural for us to be attracted to another, no matter what age or sex etc. I prefer older men so I understand where you're coming from. I'm currently in love with a man who's somewhere in his 40s. I say go for it!

 'normal' has a different meaning with different people. We each have our own ideas and preferences and there's nothing wrong with the fact that you like older men! As long as you don't act on it with anybody who's married then I say good for you knowing what you want :)

Lots of guys prefer younger girls ..... mainly because of their maturity. I know guys that are in their 20's who are absolute idiots and wouldn't even know where to insert it.

However, i admire the fact that you said that when they're married you admire them but you're not interested in having a relationship with them....that's important. My spouse is 9 years older than i am. i have always fancied men who are older than i for the same reason u cited.... their level of maturity as compared to men your own age. I always figured that an older man would have more experience, and would know how to treat me better. And it works for me. If you really love someone it shouldnt matter what age they are....what matters is that he loves u and treats u well, takes care of u, makes u feel loved and cherished and honored. If you're comfortable with being with an older man, its your choice. But be careful that he doesn't take advantage of you, because there are men out there that just want to use you for your youth and body. Wish you all the best!!!

reader, anonymous, writes (4 February 2011): Of course! Why not? You're probably mature for you age, so it's unsurprising that you gravitate towards men with more life experience and wisdom. My own parents have an age gap of 20 years, and my mum has never been able to imagine being married to anyone else; younger guys always seemed far too immature for her. It's a case of personal preference, and it's entirely normal - so don't worry :)
