I really need help... I can truly say that I am in love with my girlfriend... we recently broke up because of her father not wanting her to have a boyfriend... we promised we would wait for each other until after high school which is two years from now, she has a crush on a guy that goes to a different school and I know I would wait it's just a matter whether or not she can... I love her with all of my heart and I'm really confused

A female reader, anonymous, writes (24 November 2009):

Talk to her about it and see if you can be boyfriend/girlfriend unofficially. Like between the two of you, and she wont date anyone else and neither will you. You stay true to each other, only not showing your relationship to the outside world.

I am sorry but I do not understand the concept of not being allowed to have a boyfriend/girlfriend unless its because of the physical aspect. You could do what people in long distance relationships do: they can not physically be together, but still have a relationship based on communication, showing affection through words and letters. At your age, the physical aspect of a relationship should wait anyway.
