Is this what it's going to be like when I have kids?

A male Canada, anonymous writes:

My sister recently had a baby so I hear her (the baby) crying when I get back from school in the evening through out the night for various reasons. She's the cutest baby ever but it's absolutely impossible to get anything productive done when I get back home. If I'm not tending to the baby's needs, playing with it, hearing it cry or still shell shocked from hearing her cry.

This had me thinking: Is this what it's going to be like when I have kids? Will it be absolutely impossible to get anything done once you set foot back home?

Yea, I probably am going to be a very involved dad and I don't see it any other way so if I do have any big life projects I should look to realize them before I have kids... this has given me some found for thoughts in my life goals. Thank you.

It's been my first taste of how life could change after kids. You don't believe it until you taste it.

oldfool agony auntI would tend to say yes. It is especially tough on the mother, but everyone else is affected, too.

But if it's not your baby, I'm not sure why you are spending so much time looking after its needs. You sound like you will be a very involved Dad!

lol...Yeah but you will feel differently because it will be your child! It gets better once they start sleeping through the night! As the years go by it's better...until they reach their teenage years and then your up worrying because they're late coming home!!!!

Luckily all children are different! But the bad news there is: maybe yours will be worse! Or not. Anyway, if it's your own child, you will probably not even notice, cause you will love him\her too much to care if you don't get anything done or you don't get enough sleep. Luckily (most) babies sleep most of the time, so you will get your things done.

Just have your baby when you're sure you want one! Then nothing can go wrong! They are little pleasures not burdens. Good luck!!!!
