A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

i took the plan b pill last month after having unprotected sex. i 5 days before my period and i came out negative, and then i tested again the week of my period which was the week of march 3rd, and i came out negative. i got my period 5 or 6 days later. my period came pretty normal. i now feel pretty normal, but the question is why do i once in awhile feel nausea in my throat? is it a side effect of the pill or am i getting my period soon?

okay thank you. i did mention a typo, but i had the feeling of nausea this morning, and i couldn't eat my lunch that well that i had to grab ginger ale and crackers. now i have a question: is it possible that i am coming down with some weird stomach bug? i know the pill doesn't cause nausea, and i haven't had sex since last month, and i had my period. i pretty much now am eating crackers and might be afraid that if i eat regular food, i might feel nausea again.

Tisha-1 agony auntIt sounds unlikely that you're pregnant, but you should see your doctor to discuss the nausea. Here is a link for some information about plan B and other emergency contraception.

Do go see your doctor though, as only he or she will be able to tell you if anything is really wrong.

All the best!
