i'm not sure its the right thing to do but i would play him at his own game. flirt with other people in front of him and show him what he is missing. if he truly wants you he will tell you, and if he doesn't you will find someone who is out there for you.
have you thought that maybe you just love him as a friend and because you have been good friends for so long your feelings are just being mixed about.
