A age 30-35, anonymous writes:

This is the new diet I want to try...

One day eat 200 cals, the next 400, the next 600, and then 200 again and repeat the 3 day cycle over and over again. Also, to do half an hour of exercise 3 times a week. Will I lose weight by this and how much will I lose? Would this be able to get me into size 8 or below? (I am size 12 now!) As many answers as possible would be appreciated, thank youxxx

Your body would start to wonder when you were getting food and start to store the fat. Also 200 Calories is way below the amount you are meant to have! You should be way more like at least 900!!!!

Stop trying to be annorexic, it's not a good look

Why don't you spend your time getting a life and living it rather than counting calories so much? Can you imagine how much time it would take up to make sure you get the right amount of calories for that day? You should really have better things to do with your time.

Tisha-1 agony auntHere are all your answers from yesterday:

Possible side effects of rapid weight loss are: gallstones, dehydration, malnutrition, electrolyte imbalance, headaches, irritability, fatigue, dizziness and constipation.

Speak to your doctor about planning a sensible weightloss program. If you do the very restricted calorie diet you've proposed, your body will go into the fat-storing starvation mode. I doubt that's really what you want to happen.

Good luck, and remember that being fit is the most important thing.

A female reader, um0829 United States +, writes (2 March 2009):

by not eating you are slowing your metabolism down which is what burns calories in the first place. You need to eat 200 calories is nothing you need more then that. You are torturing yourself and it is not going to last. If you want to lose weight go to the gym and get on a healthy diet. there are even protein shakes that you could mix into your diet. Also try eating a lot of proteins and cut down on carbs and fats. Eating healthy and watching what you eat is a great idea but not eating at all is just pointless

You asked this yesterday and we told you that you are an idiot for even thinking about it.

Did you think we'd be nicer about it second or third time round?

No, we get meaner.

IF YOU THINK THIS DIET WILL WORK, LET ALONE BE SAFE, THEN YOU HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM OR YOU ARE JUST RETARDED.

Good Luck!! xx

A female reader, jessica04 United States +, writes (1 March 2009):

jessica04 agony aunt200-600 calories a day for someone your age is not nearly enough for your body to run on. You will lose weight, and your body will go into shock if you were to keep up on this diet.

Any weight you lose will be water weight right away, and you will gain it all back if you stop the diet. Learn to lose weight a healthier way by eating right and doing the exercises suggested for someone your age. Join a sports team and maybe talk to a nutritionist at a local health club who can guide you.

Losing weight slowly and smartly will help you keep off the weight in the long run. Crash diets, as you described, harm your organs and wear you down fast and hard, and do not have long term results.

ArmyMedic agony auntNo this is very dangerous, it's called anorexia, no matter how nice you make it sound. If you want to loose weight see a dietician, and don't get silly ideas from celebrity web sites.
