writes: I recently received the same messages from two different guys, respectively...Both are my business contacts. One used "hope all is well" as email subject, then nothing in email body. reader, anonymous, writes (14 August 2011): Mostly likely it's a purely professional gesture. That's what I would guess. You said you exchanged contacts...so they emailed you, not so much to say "hi" but to keep your email contact saved in their computers.It's also very possible they thought you were attractive, and so they were more likely to bother to save you to their contacts...perhaps they are trying to maintain the professional distance. Perhaps that's why they were so curt in their message. If you think they were in fact trying to ask for your attention or they had mentioned something like, "we should get together later" while you met in person...I would hold out for someone who can string a couple sentences together in an email.I wouldn't reply in any of these scenarios.
