if i gave you a birthday card and wrote in it 'i wasnt there, but i know it was very early on a wednesday morning in 1970 that you popped out of your mom and since then the world has experienced your sweetness and the joy it is to know you. i cant think of anything in a long time that has made me feel better than having a friend as sweet as you. thanx, i really like you alot and appreciate your friendship.....always. luv me. what is so wrong with that? is it too overwhelming or what?

that is actually cute! apart from the popping out of you mom part (too eww!) you ask if it is overwhelming. did it overwhelm you? thats all that matters coz you are the one its been sent to. i wouldnt worry about this card, just see how the person behaves with you in your day-to-day life. if the person is too full on and you find it uncormfortable and unwelcome - have a word with them. i have a friend who writes the most gorgeous things in her xmas and birthday cards to me, but that is all, in real life she actually acts rather disinterested most of the time! some people just enjoy writing sentimental stuff.

i personally dont think theres nothing wrong with it, its sweet and caring yet the popping out of your mom bit adds a bit of humor to it, just write it in:)

Sweety Pie agony auntDepends who its too. Male/female? Partner or just a friend? If it was a partner then yeah its ok, the popping out your mom bit is weird, change it to 'you were born' or something.

followtheblackrabbit agony auntThe "popping out of your mom" part would have been a bit too much for me but the rest is quite sweet.
