The fact that they're disappearing when you aren't sexually active for a bit says it's most likely irritation. But you should see a doctor, both or you, and you should both use protection from now on.

Are you sure she was a virgin? STIs can be passed orally too, so blow jobs can pass nastiness and her "Virginity" remains intact!
If you think you have got a problem down there see a doctor and get some sex education while you are there.
Oh and use CONDOMS!!!

It sounds like you do have an STI from your description but you should go to the doctors to get it checked out.
Don't be scared to go to the doctors, its their job to help you with your problems and believe me they have seen it all before.
If you do have an STI you need to tell your girlfriend and she will have to be checked so they can see if they can cure it.
Good luck

two things : suggest not having sex for a few days or wearing a condom as you could be passing it on to (actully you are passing it on to ) each other. that includes oral! you can pass stds to the mouth!
and go get checked at doctors.... sooner rather than later before it turns green or drops off or similar (google penis and stds if not convinced its a good idea to be checked)

It could be anything - a rash, a mild allergic reaction to condoms ( ... you are using condoms, right!) or worst case scenario, an STI, although if you were both virgins to begin with and have always used a condom, this is unlikely.I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor, just to get yourself checked out. Don't be embarrassed, you won't have anything your doc won't have seen before :o) Lumps and bumps are not to be ignored though - especially on such a sensitive area.Fee
