reader, anonymous, writes (11 September 2007): Home pregnancy tests can take up to 21 days from the day you conceived to show a positive result. As far as I have read, if it were a ectopic pregnancy (tubal) it would still show a positive result. You should go to a doctor and get a blood test done. If that is negative, you could have something wrong with you. Have you missed a period yet? If not it is simply too soon for a pregnancy test to work. I took a pregnancy test which was negative but I was certain to be pregnant. I took another a week later & it was positive.

You could be experiencing a fallopian tube pregnancy, in which case I don't know if an over-the-counter pregnancy test would actually reveal it. Go see your physician and find out for sure. They may have to do an ultrasound to know for sure. Don't delay.

If the tests say no then I would have to say you probably aren't, those tests are pretty accurate. When was your last period? Pregancy symptoms don't usually show up until the third or fourth month. If you don't get your period have the test done by your doctor.
