The girl I want to ask is a really good softball player and practices year round. I was thinking of showing up at the end of one of her practices with some flowers and a softball that has "homecoming?" Written on it. I was going to toss her the ball and give her the flowers after she said yes. Is this a good/cute idea? Would she like it?

Even if she says no, she'll remember the gesture for many years to come. The flowers do sound a bit much, but the soft ball idea is a good start to doing it in a creative way.

Women hate the soft sh## kid. No matter what they say. It creates affection not attraction thus turns them off. Dont put in any effort just ask her straight.

If she's your girl and you know she's going to say yes then there it little risk of a knock back.
It sounds lovely, just be as romantic as you can, girls love that.
The flowers sound lovely and so does the softball theme (she can keep that too as a lovely reminder)
I hope you both have a great time. AB x
