writes: I have had UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) in the past. My doctor told me I should pee after sex to avoid this to happen again. I’ve been good doing this except for a couple of times. When it starts itching, I immediately drink lots of water and cranberry juice to fix the problem. I was able to avoid seeing a doctor about this. However, this time it was a little trickier. My drinking of water and cranberry juice only solved the itchy part but my urine still smells really strong. In the morning, it’s very yellow with a little bit of cloudiness. But when I start drinking lots of water, it’ll be normal again. My urine had never smelled like that before even when I didn’t drink as much water. Is there something wrong and can it be fixed without going to the doctor’s? Reply to this Question Share |

If you think there's a chance you have an infection don't take the chance of treating it yourself, please visit the doctor. He/she can simply give you a prescription to clear it up completely.

Cranberry juice is clinically proven to be effective at dealing with UTI's but the drinks you get in the shops are usually diluted with water or other juices so they are not concentrated enough to do the trick. They will help in addition to other treatment because cranberry is supposed to stop the bad bacteria from sticking to the walls of your bladder. You don't say if you had antibiotics for your last UTI but it is the standard treatment. The thing is that treatment is important to prevent kidney disease and a sample of your urine needs to be sent to a lab to check you are taking the right sort of antibiotics. All in all, UTI is a very common disorder and you should see your doctor. If you want to confirm your UTI is back, ask a pharmacist for a UTI test as some sell them over the counter.
