writes:It took me years to find quality girlfriends in the city I grew up in. Now that I've moved across the Pacific Ocean I find myself up against the same challenge: finding great female friends in Auckland New Zealand. Who thought it would be so hard? I've lived here for several years and have lost several friends due to jealously, acts of cruelty and sharp tongues. Is it really too much to ask for friends that don't make cutting comments about your looks, make digs about how much money you have, or how easy life must be for you. Where are the confident, adventure-seeking, kind-hearted women I found back home?I'm tired of wasting my time. I drop people as soon as they exhibit this type of behaviour. Is there any hope of finding what I'm looking for?

 I have found that no matter where you are, there seem to be a lot more people who are unkind than kind. It's dog eat dog out there. I reckon just try to go out with your friends, who can introduce you to more people. Hey, if your friends like these people then they can't be bad, right?
Just be patient and something will turn up, it usually does!

reader, anonymous, writes (11 July 2010): see everyone is different no mater were you are. there is nice and bad people out there, instead of just droppin people like that you should try and sort out any problems you have with them.
you just have to stop and give everyone a chance to get to know you and vice visa
