Well here is the question, since I'm attracted to someone that's from Alabama, and I happen to be from Michigan, I was only wondering if there is a difference in Northern men compared to the southern men? I don't know why I'm attracted to southern men, but, I am.

Is there anything wrong with this? Feedback would be great.

Fatherly Advice agony auntI'd like to look at this from the guys point of view. Also pointing out that these are generalities and will not apply to all cases. One of the big differences between northern men and southern men is that southern men are used to southern women. Southern belles use charm they are sweet some times tooth achingly sweet. It is their way of getting their way with good ol boys. Frome the male point or view it is hard to resist. Northern girls use indirection to achieve the same goal with northerrn men. Your sothern man may find you a bit cold so you willneed to concentrat on showing emotion. Hopefully he likes your independance, but he will likely want to jump in and fix things for you. If you can let him do that without it threatening your independence it will help alot. Mostly you are dealing with a culture clash. The more you two undestand eachothers cultures the easier this will be. A good start for you would be to call his mom and get to know her. FA

In today's mobile society, who really knows where someone is from? My brother and I grew up in the Northwest and then he moved all over the world in the military and ended up settling in the South where he met a Southern belle and settled down. He now is a self-professed redneck, has a Southern accent, and calls himself a Southerner. What exactly are you attracted to? Is he a city boy or a country boy? Do you like the accent? I don't think there is anything wrong with you. I think you are probably tired of guys in your area, and since Michigan and Alabama are such "different worlds," then you probably want to test the waters of another pool in another state, know what I mean? I think you should go for it! Make yourself blissfully happy. I am a Northwesterner who married a Northwesterner and now we are divorcing, so if your wonderful Southern man has a good looking older brother, send him my way!
