I am friends with him we hang out in a big group some weekends but I don't really know that much about him. I don't have his number or anything. She said that she text him the other day (just as friends as she has a husband) and she mentioned my name and he then he went on to ask how I was but I just said he was probably being polite as he's a really nice guy and knows me and her are always together. The second thing was that we all had some pictures taken and when the guy saw the one of me and him together he said that he thought that was a nice picture. Does everyone else think as I do that you can't really tell from these minor things, think she's just making assumptions?

Well I guess he wouldn't bother to ask about you or comment on your picture if he didn't notice you and the fact that he's obviously noticed you means he must find something about you memorable. Ask your friend for his number and ring him and see if he wants to go for a coffee.
Good luck
