reader, anonymous, writes (8 April 2006): This all depends on delivery. If you can find some sterile way to "conveniently" give him your phone number, or get his, it'll seem far less HOT. Questions about homework and other banal stuff is a pretty good excuse. Just don't bat your eyes or pout as you ask, he'll understand.

How would you ask your "other" friends for their number? If you don't want him to know your true feelings then treat him as your other friends.
Alternatively, find an excuse to give him yours. If he likes then then he'll find an "excuse" to contact you.

I'm in the same problem except my friend has a girlfriend and if i ask for his number, she'll think I'm trying to steal him away seeing as he already flirts with me. Just drop hints maybe, get your phone out for no reason and he might ask for yours. Or just take his phone from him, and prank your phone.
