He also asked me how long I had been with my partner and how things were. Is it me or has this boss of mine opened up to me emotionally in order to have a closer relationship with me? I don't have clear answers. He prompted the conversation, not me, I've been acting cool for so long with him as we both have partners. Help I cannot stop this love feeling no matter what I say to myself and a big part of me wants us both to dump our partners and get together, we are so suited!!i only stay professional with him as he is my boss!!

Stay professional with your boss. I understand that you feel close with him, but you both DO have partners, and those people deserve to be honored in your lives prior to any other individuals.
I do believe he's putting "feelers" out to see how you feel about him, but this is a recipe for disaster.
If you are unhappy in your current relationship, try to fix that, or end it. Don't entertain thoughts of any other romances as an escape from your current heartache.

The chances are if you do take this to the next level, it will end in tears..
