Question - (3 November 2008) 2 Answers - (Newest, 3 November 2008)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My best friend used to like this guy when she was younger, she says she loved him for about 3 years, but nothing ever happened between them, she has now been going out with a different guy for a year and a half but has recently warned me not to get with the guy she liked years ago. At the same time i was just beginning to like this guy and now don't know what to do, should i just forget about him and focus on keeping my friendship with my best friend, or is she over-reacting about the situation?

A male reader, yum yum Switzerland +, writes (3 November 2008):

yum yum agony auntYou should ask her why is she warning you about this guy??.

She could be jellous of you and in that case she is not really a good friend. Find out for yourself how this guy is and come up to your own conclusions. Good luck!.

A reader, anonymous, writes (3 November 2008):

Don't let her run your life. She had a crush on him, nothing ever came of it. If you like the guy, then go for it with him. If she's any kind of friend, she will accept that she can't tell you not to go out with someone just because she used to (and maybe still does) fancy him.
