 To add to oldfool's train of thought, by the time a female reaches puberty, she has about 300,000 ova, and a male produces something like 12 trillion spermatozoa in his lifetime. Do the math, I can't! And technically, ova and spermatozoa are cells, not creatures....

 Without an egg, a spermatozoon is nothing. And Nature certainly didn't intend for every single sperm to be united with an egg. If every sperm produced did its job and fertilised an egg, the earth would be grossly overpopulated in about a year.

You need to read up more on your scripture, and get to know more about what the bible says. I used to be good at scripture myself, the bible's very good for giving you amunition against people who wanna take all the fun out of life, it's also a great read.
Start at Genisis (the begining) There's a bit in there about God giving us dominion (rule) over the earth including plants and animals (food and air) To me this seems to mean the god also gave me dominion (the right to rule) my own body. He gave you your body, for a good reason. Use it wisely, make it your own special temple, make it feel good. Seems to me that people who don't masturbate, aren't proper christians at all.

A sperm is not a potential life. It is half of a potential life that has no function or value on its own. Nothing can come from a sperm alone. The egg, which is in the female's ovaries and then moves to the uterus, must join with the egg to make it a POTENTIAL human life.
I agree that worrying about killing sperm is about as logical as worrying about killing germs when washing one's hands.

You should be trying to form a relationship with a member of the opposite sex. This means talking to them, trying to get to know them.
This way you will be able to form a proper connection with women, and whats more, this may lead to real sex, when you're old enough.

It's only murder in the same way that washing your hands with soap is murder.
Sperm is a single cell. Same as germs and viruses. You can't worry about killing tiny cells.
Other wise, every time a girl had a period it would be murder too as she is passing an egg out.
Your friend sounds like a nut job to me. Comparing someone who marturbates to a man who killed millions of people is a bit far fetched.
Find some better, more stable friends and don't worry.

It helps them learn about their body.If this progresses into adulthood when you have a partner, then it is detrimental. Its shows lack of control, and this can progress to things like porn, online sex chat, and eventually messing around outside your relationship, living out your fantasies.
