writes: I'm on birth control and just started taking it two weeks ago. Is it normal to have light bleeding throughout the month(not on your period.) But just bleeding through the month when you're on birth control? Like I said, I just started it two weeks ago.

reader, anonymous, writes (30 April 2009): Yep yep... nothing to worry about.. When you're taking the pill your cycle is regulated and it just takes a little while sometimes to get sorted. Just wear a pantyliner for the next little while.. mine stopped with my second period. No worries chick.

Yes, spotting can occur when you first start the pill.
If it persists for a while, or gets even heavier, then call your doctor and talk with them about this side effect.
Your body can take a couple of months to get used to the pill, so give it time and you should level out and become regular on it.
