Hmm interesting. where do you live... what part of the world do you live...
I do not have any kids.. only a small dog.. he is my son.. 9 years old.. very important to me as if he was a child...
I find the few men I have dated... only want what they want... really a shame.. kids.. dogs.. are pretty close the same..
I would be interested with us yacking to start with....

I don't think there is anything wrong personally, but I will admit, some people are out just to get their kicks...and that's it. In other words, they could be having a lot of "fun" with you, but break your heart in the long run. Not that that couldn't happen if you just met them on the street so to speak, but behind the computer, there are many people who could just be down right lying to you and never want to meet up or could be married. It really depends on what you are looking for. There are many good sites that you can meet singles who are trying to pursue a relationship like what Frank mentioned. You being a single dad, you could meet someone at your kids school, church, or even at the movies...lots of single parents take their kids to the movies. Good luck in your search....

I know lots of couples that met over the net. I met my current fiance over eharmony.com.
As long as you have intentions of meeting the person in real life within a reasonable time (within the same month), then go for it.
