Is it virtual love?

Question - (30 May 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 2 June 2011)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I've been talking to a guy that I met on the internet a little over a month ago. He had posted a personal ad where he specified that he was looking for someone to talk to about anything and everything, and so I responded and now we communicate (emails and texts) several days a week but not every day. We get along fabulously because we're very alike and share the same sense of humor. He knows how to make me laugh, make me think, and make me smile on a lousy day.

My issue is that I'm falling for everything that he seems to be, but he's never even mentioned meeting up. Perhaps even more importantly, since he was initially only looking for a pen pal kind of thing, we never exchanged pictures so I feel like I could be enamored with a warthog for all I know. And what's even worse: he told me he's done the whole personal ad in search of someone to talk to before me. So he's talking to other people like me, too?

Should I even approach the topic of meeting him? Should I make it more obvious that I really like him? Is there anything I can do to figure out if he likes me without making things awkward and risking our friendship?

angelDlite agony auntkeep chatting if you enjoy it, just keep your feet on the ground coz you really don't know the real him. it is very easy for a person to play a part and make themselves appear to be everything you want them to be, especially online.

make sure you keep up with your life and friends in the real world too

if you ever do meet up with him - BE SAFE!
