So I went to the doctor today to ask about abortions, after a little chat she's refered me to a hopspital + I'm feeling okay about that. Then she asked the question if I'd been having any pains. I told her that I'd had bad lower stomach pains a couple of weeks back + she's getting me to go for a scan to see if everything's okay.. Now, I was wondering, is she worried that this is an ectopic pregnancy? And also, is it still possible to terminate these kind of pregnancies? I know I should've asked her, but I didn't really think at the time... Any advice would be greatly recieved. =] x

Hi, an ectopic pregnancy is actually very serious. For more information, you can also follow this link:

You should definitely contact your doctor again to ask this question, if you're spending a lot of time worrying about it. It may not be why you're being sent for the scan, but you shouldn't have to worry for no reason. Don't feel afraid to ask for information from your doctor; I've learned through personal experience that it is better to be well-informed, though annoying, than it is to worry over things that aren't really an issue. Don't be shy, be bold, be assertive, and ask for more information!
All the best.

Yes it is still possible to terminate an ectopic pregnancy. Actually it's probably in your best interest.
