We went to different schools and for the past 3 years Ive worked in London and she lives in Texas and has a great job there. Ive alwyas been honest with her and havent asked her to marry me? I felt so bad about dragging on the realationship I felt it was the right thing to do to break up with her and let her live her life. I began to date a little bit, but now I know fur sure Im ready to marry her and love her the rest of my life. Is it possible to get the relationship back? She was ready to get married, but I didnt want to do it for the wrong reasons, I always cared about her but just wasnt ready. I recently surprised her and told her I loved her and want to start a life with her. She said she wanted space to think about it? We will be apart for about another two months then my job is over and I can move to be with her. Any tips on how to handle this? Reply to this Question Share |

Hi there. At the moment you are in a long distance relationship, which is fairly challenging anyway.
If she would like her space, well then you have no choice but to give her that space.
How often do you talk to each other? And is it by telephone, email or skype or texting each other?
The fact she wants some space at least shows she is going to think about it, so it's not like she said a straight out "No" to you. So I guess you can consider that to be fairly positive.
And until she has made some kind of decision as to whether she still wants to marry you, you are going to have to be patient with her. You can't force her to hurry up in deciding.
If you feel that your relationship now is still as good as it was when she wanted to get married, well then there's a pretty good chance that it will still go ahead.
It's going to take some time though.
There's no-one else in her life is there? There's always that too. Although, she would have given some indication surely.
So all being well between you, perhaps the gap that you haven't seen each other for, might be having an effect on things now.
You will probably find that it will all be different once you are both together once more. Two months isn't very long to wait.

You unexpectedly broke up with her which probably broke her heart. She wants space to think it over. She's probably thinking what if you do it again. Can she trust you etc. You need to make it up to her big time.
Good luck
