I am besotted.But.....a few nights ago things got steamy and we ended up having wild sex, when she was in an unusual position I caught a glimpse of some hair around the anus, I have never seen this on a girl before and I have had about 20 sexual partners, she has been with 3, but then not all of them have been in that kind of zone of comfortability I guess. Is this normal? How do I tell her without embarrassing her? Is it likely she is aware? I feel extremely strange about the whole thing to be honest as I'm sure I could deal with it but I will always wonder if she knows....if I don't say anything of course. If you only found hair when in an unusual position, like 69, that means there is not a lot of hair, as in bushy. Nothing to freak out about. Maybe the 20 girls you had been with all shaved themselves. If your girl is Asian, Greek, Armenian or has dark hair, then definitely don't wax. I use an electric trimmer. Philips lady sensitive. It always does the job.

I have only been able to afford a Brazilian once, and was totally shocked when the wax got spread "back there"...I was grateful, though, because it is difficult to shave there correctly and without injury.

It's more than normal, it's very common. Most people do.
A lot of people go to the waxer's and get it removed.
It's a personal decision.

Hi OP,
She must be aware, unless as Tisha points out she has never washed between her buttocks. Highly unlikely, you'll agree.
Males and females both have hair in that area, some more than others and of course it's more noticeable if she has dark hair. Nothing to fret about. No doubt she chooses not to shave around this delicate area.
She probably assumes that you've already noticed this with at least one of your 20 previous lovers and is perfectly comfortable with her hair. As she should be.

And how is possible not to know that you have hair down there if you wash yourself every day. Your fingers go there and touch it, this place deffinitely gets washed often. Personally, I think that it turns you off, otherwise you wouldn't say: I can deal with it. I think you need to tell her that you prefer her to shave it better. It's such a hassle though, I shave but not as what you would like and for me it would be an extra chore deffinitely.

She's normal and if she washes her bottom then she is aware she has hair there. No need to worry about it beyond that.
I had a chat with a licensed beautician about waxing one day, she told me in our state that it's illegal to use was on the perianal area. Apparently the FDA has listed that as one of the areas that could be damaged by hot wax. I am aware people get fully waxed all the time but they should be aware of the concerns surrounding it.

She should not shave this area! It will grow back and be prickly. Waxing only!!
(and I'm sure she knows it's there. And you should NOT say anything - unless it was a general conversation about waxing vs shaving).

And yeah I know I have hair there but I thought that was a guy thing.
Thanks again people

hair "there" IS very common. In fact, Go for any Brazilian bikini wax and they have a special "back strip" just for that.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (25 October 2013): It's normal. I'm part Cherokee and have it. Shaving doesn't quite get it (and that would be a BAD place to cut myself shaving), so I just yank it out in the shower.
Of course she knows. She's just been living with her own body since puberty, so I'm sure she's almost gone through the five stages of grief over this weird hair (denial, anger...) ;) Presumably in her twenties, she's gotten to a stage of complete acceptance, and mostly forgetting its presence. It took this question to remind me that most women don't have hair there.

Asus hair is a serious medical condition that can be cured only by two things: shaving/waxing or ignoring it.
