Is it normal for periods to be messed up after giving birth?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I just had a baby two months ago and i got my period after i had him for 3 weeks but i have not had one after that, could i be pregnant again or is it normal for a period to be messed up after having a baby? I am not on no birth controal but i have been using condoms. I havent took a pregnancy test yet because i dont want my husband to see it and get all worried over something that could be nothing.please help me, thank you

Any sex for any amount of time with no protection can lead to pregnancy. There's an 20% chance of it using the pullout "method." Precum indeed contains sperm. But don't sweat it before you need to. Just go to the doctor and if s/he says you're preggers, then you can start to worry. But until then, there's no point.

i did not make my questions clear enough im sorry, i will try to ask again...I had my baby june 25,09 after i had him i got my period for 3 weeks so the middle of july it stoped but i have not had one for aug, i have been using condoms but we also have had intercourse for a couple of min. with out one could i be pregnant again? I have a drs apt next week.

Women typically bleed for weeks after giving birth. It's like a constant period. I'm surprised to hear that you didn't until three weeks later. I think it's normal.
