writes: A new girl joined our year at UCLA a few weeks ago and I've developed a real crush on her over the past while. She was initially befriended by a friend of mine who is also in our year and that's how we met. The two of them hang out a lot and apparently went to the cinema together recently - although I don't know whether they considered this an actual date or not. THey have been out together at least once more since then. The girl and I seem to get on pretty well, she laughs at my jokes, there's plenty of eye contact and some touching, but while I have been flirting, I honestly can't tell if she's attracted to me or just being friendly. This is essentially the situation. I would like some opinions on whether it is likely that my friend and this girl are merely hanging out platonically or dating. He already has a casual girlfriend and the girl knows about her too.
