writes: Dear Cupid,I need help sorting this out. I realized after almost a year of knowing him, that I have a small crush on my guy friend. We share and talk about everything, including moments where he will come over for takeout and eat at my house on occasion. And he will stay over for hours into the night (sometimes midnight if we have nothing planned for the next day). He's a good guy with a good heart! And even though he's hinted that he likes me, he isn't open to the idea of dating/going out with anyone right now. With this in mind, I've given up hope that he will ever step forward and claim me.Recently, I met this other guy and we began talking on semi-regular basis. He and I were very compatible after a few weeks of conversing, he asked me out on a date. Mind you, the entire time my guy friend wasn't entirely in favor of this new man I met. He would call him out of his name, say he was no-good despite not having met him or seen him in person. He knows nothing about him! And as I continue to date him, I just diffuse the statements my guy friend makes because inside I feel like he doesn't want to see me with anyone else. He's going through a selfish phase and wants his cake and eat it too.So is this a sign that my guy friend likes me or is he just overprotective of me? How should I conquer this situation and still remain happy?
