We'll be close distance after 2 years. So he went back home in the US to visit his family for Christmas and New Year, and we videochatted on Skype almost everyday. He had no problem talking to me in the living room where his older brother and younger sister were watching TV, then he "introduced" me to them by turning the laptop around to let them say hi to me, then he also let his mom say hi to me. They all knew me before although I've only seen his sister when she visited him here before (I live in the UK).I'm from Asia originally and introducing a boyfriend/girlfriend to one's family, especially parents is considered something huge in my culture...so I would like to know how that is considered in American culture. Does it mean he's pretty serious about us?

Inviting your boyfriend/girlfriend round to meet your parents is a big step, yes. However turning the camera around so his family members can wave at you... not so much. Thats not a big deal at all. You havn't really met them in person so I wouldnt count it.
