writes:Hey friends, my story seem very strange to me but may make sense to you, i'm a 32 year old woman who's been in long distance relationship with a 38 year old man since 9 months now , the problem is i felt that he's a gentleman when we go out in terms of invitation and paying the dinners but in terms of gifts on special occasions i haven't got anything although he's a millionaire and i'm an average woman.for example every time i travel to see him i buy him something as a sweet gesture whether wallets or shirts etc etc , he never got me anything except a teddy bear on valentine, he ignored my birthday and never got me anything not even flowers.am i dealing with a stingy man? or maybe he thinks i don't deserve it ?i'm not materialistic but a gesture even a cheap one makes a person happy.

reader, anonymous, writes (13 August 2010): He sounds very unthoughtful and cheap!!! Maybe he has been burned by other woman using him but he shouldn't let that interfear with your relationship. He should treat you like a lady. You should have a conversation with him about the fact that thoughtful gestures mean alot to you. Also have a conversation and ask him if he trusts your intentions. Try to determine if the lack of thought is due to selfishness or mis-trust. Both are tough and will make you feel unappreciated. Make sure that you are clear to him that you're not into him for material things but....a flower, card and simple thoughts can go a long way. hope this helps.
