writes:I like this guy in my high school. One of my best friends asked him if he likes me back and he said sort of. Sometimes my crush does things to get my attention. He does things to be near me. He stares and stalks me. The problem is he says he has a girlfriend and I am absolutely sure that he does not have a girlfriend (long story of how I found out). Also another problem is, he ignores my phone calls, but responds to my text messages sometimes. My friends tell me he might be scared to go out with me because I am a freshman and he is a junior? I am not sure if he keeps lying to me because the age difference or because I used to like his best friend (best friend never liked me back and treated me like crap). Does my crush like me back or does he not like me back? I am confused!

reader, anonymous, writes (2 July 2007): I'm also a junior in highschool, and had a a girl that is a freshman like me, its not that we don't like you...trust me we do, its just that when i'm gona be 18, she'll be 16,and thats illegal, so its better to just wait until after highschool to actually date i guess, just be good friends with him, let him be confortable around you.  i think that his "girlfriend" is just a wall that he put up so he wouldn't get too attached. because as people mature they tend to want a long lasting relationship, and once he is 18, you'll be around 16 and illegal. so yeah to answer your question i do think that he likes you. GOOD LUCK.

 Yes, I'd say he liked you, he's just a bit shy and feels insecure about himself. Why don't you ask him if he wants to hang out somewhere? YOU take the initiative here. Do it in a text to him if you don't want to ask him face to face and see his response.
