I suggest you take it very easy and very slow; don't get to emotionally involved yet; give it time; talk to him and tell him you prefer to take things slow and get to know each other better. If he likes you he will respect your wishes; if he does not respect your wishes DUMP him; find somebody that will take respect your wishes and whom you will feel confident is with you because he wants to be with you.
Have lots of friends but be selective in whom you date.
