He's playfully slapped my ass a couple times, jokingly made fun and laughed at me, playfully argued with me over my veganism, wrestled with me a little and hugged me a few times. Now usually all this would indicate that he's interested in me but the thing is that he's quite playful with two or three other girls in class aswel and he knows them longer than he knows me. He's the male equivalent of that girl you know that always wants hugs from everyone. You know the type, will put on a sad face and say "I need a hug". He's the make version of that, he wants female attention all the time.
So even if he did like you, and you did end up together ask yourself if you'd be okay with him doing to that to other girls still because that's who he is, that's what he does and to him it's just a bit of fun.

 He was definitely flirting but since he does it to 2 other girls in your class...I'm going with he's flirty and playful by nature. In other words, he's a ladies man who loves all the ladies and had monogamy issues. Steer clear, sweetie. These guys are heartbreakers.
