A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *eartsonfire writes:

I have known this guy for about two years, we speak online but we've never met. recently he's told me he's likes me and would love to marry me one day in the future. then this past week he told me how much he liked me and that he's falling for me more and more and for a few nights we spoke til the early hours of the morning.

then out of the blue he's just stopped getting in touch with me. i don't understand what it could be, i saw him online and im-ed him and he was talking to me but more just replying to my questions and not making conversation.

could he be having second thoughts? should i get in touch with him? or leave him to it?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2008):

How could he fall in love with you if you have never even met? He could be saying the same thing to others.

Back off a bit and see what he does. But it seems some people just go on these sites to have a substitute for a real relationship.

Reebe agony auntDepends what you said back to him when he said all these things, he may feel foolish if you didn't say anything back.

Email him and ask him if anything is wrong as he's being quiet with you, maybe ask him (if it's possible) if he would like to meet up soon?

Then see what he has to say to that.

I believe you can love someone with out meeting them, but you can't actually think about marriage etc until you have spent alot of time with someone.
