A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

hi,

I met a man on a dating site he asked to get to know me, then i agreed. We have been talking for 1 month and a half now on the phone for hours and chatting on line too for hours. He introduced me to his sister and mum. The problem now is that he says he loves me so much and wants to to get married to me so he wants to know if i feel the same.

I told him that i like him but i need some time to fall in love. And that i can tell him that i love him when we meet. He says he wants to know if i feel the same now cause he does not want to get damaged in the future. So if i dont feel the same we should stop talking.I told that he should be patient with me and give me time to fall in love with him.

My question is that do you think that he is not patient with me, he keeps on saying that his first wife did not love like he loved her thats why he got divorced. So he doesnt want to go through that again.

rockelle agony auntIt sounds to me like he is rushing in too fast. I believe that you are right to be honest and ask him to give you some time. Just because you are not head over heels for him now doesn't mean that it will not ever happen. If he can not be patient with you then I would stop talking with him. It is only fair that he give you a reasonable amount of time before he starts making demands about love and a relationship. So talk with him and be very honest and see how things go from that point.
