hapiness is in whatever you recognise it in.. get creative and make a list with 100 things that make oyu happy! i found this idea on 43things.com, and i went for it, it was hard after the first 10, then i had to really think about the positive stuff in my life, and eventually i am grateful for 78 specific things! :) you shoudl try it too, it's constructive and positive and it's more about you and what you like, not about in what ways you depend on other people to make you happy :-) . also.. exercise helps, it gives you a buzz aND on a chemical level it raises the level of the 'happy hormones' in your body - listening to music.. making yourself laugh- thats a toughie but i tink once you cracked that one you're on a winner . focus on the good things, and if you think you havent got enough, then get yourself some!! xxx

Join a volunteer's association, take an evening class in italian cooking or heraldry, offer to weed the garden or do the shopping for an elderly neighbour.
AND - everything skye and rhythmandblues said.
Good luck. Be patient. And then be happy.

Yes, you can! Decide to be happy and dont accept anything else. It truely is that simple.
I used to be unhappy a lot of the time too, until one day I realised that I did not need to be anymore. I dealt with each issue that was bothering me one by one. I had to make some difficult decisions but I was doing it for my own sanity.
Some situations where out of my control, so I did what I could. I could do no more, so what was the point of worry except more unhappiness?
Try wearing a smile too. It sounds so cheesy, but I found it does make me feel better, and its certainly worth a try. Think positively aswell. Things arent always hopeless.
Look for the good points in situations and deal with the bad as and when they arise. We all have to do things we dont want to, but its much easier when you get them sorted out quickly. That way we dont have negativity hanging over us.
Rhytmandblues is right too. Be grateful for what you have, the help you recieve from others, and the people who love and care for you.
I hope you can try to change your outlook on things, for that is when you will find what you are looking for.
Best wishes and take care,
Skye
