But my friend just had sex for the first time, and her period was late for about two weeks. Is it normal for this to happen? For your period to be late after the first time?

The age of the woman at the time she is having sex is THE number one risk factor for contracting HPV leading to cervical cancer. It is so common that a new vaccine against HPV has been developed, but little history is available as to the efficacy of this vaccine agains cervical cancer.
Condoms do not protect against it. The number one risk factor is the woman's age at first having sex, it isn't the quatinty of sex or the number of partners that cause it, but the young age is the one thing that makes her at high risk. The lack of development of her body has something to do with it as does the poor hygene of young men, her sexual partners, and the number of partners does not have anything to do with it, so you can have sex once at a young age and contract HPV....which leads to cervical cancer. It is a very serious health issue, it is life threatening and sometimes ends in death. So it is nothing to just blow off as the ramblings of some uncool adult who is against young people having sex.

it is very normal. my first time i was about 2 months late. every girl is different. even now, if i have sex right before im supposed to get my period it will be at least a week late. every girl responds to sex differently. it is normal. just be safe about it.

I hope you have been to your doctor for and exam and some pills to prevent unwanted pregnancy....also ask for the HPV vacc to help prevent the virus that leads to cervical cancer. The fact that you are very young to be having sex puts you at a high risk of this....see your doctor right away.
