writes: I have sex with my boyfriend 8 days ago. I've had sex before, so this was not my first time nor was it his. I am not on the pill. We started off using a condom, but halfway through it started sliding off and we decided to just take it off completely and "wing it". He did pull out about 5 minutes before he came, just to be safe. Two days ago though, I noticed a tiny bit of blood when I went to the bathroom. It was very light pink, and I was scared until I remembered that this has happened to me before. All the other times I've had sex I ALWAYS used protection but still somehow managed to bleed a little bit after. But the past five days I've been having ongoing very very mild cramps.. are these signs of pregnancy? Or is 8 days too soon to be having any symptoms? I know I can't get a pregnancy test yet because it takes a few weeks for your hormones to change. Please let me know what you think.. Am I pregnant or is it just nothing to worry about? =\

reader, anonymous, writes (6 March 2010): when having unprotected sex regardless of pull out method or not - there is always the chance of pregnancy. I had cramps too before i was able to take a pregnancy test and i had a light spot of pink in my underwear. For me, my period cramps would start and get worse and within 2 - 3 days i would start my period. The cramps i got were milder and became less and less and no period turned up - i was pregnant, or should i say, still am lol. It could be pregnancy however it could be a range of other things (such as period) - i would say wait it out and get tested as soon as you can. Try not to worry if you can :)
